The Germany Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) is a job-search residence permit for qualified non-EU professionals. You qualify either with a fully recognised foreign qualification or by scoring at least 6 points for qualifications, language skills, work experience, age and ties to Germany. It is valid for up to one year and allows part-time work while you search.

Germany Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte): overview
The Opportunity Card lets you move to Germany first and find a job there — a big advantage over applying from abroad. Once you find a qualifying job, you can switch to an EU Blue Card or skilled worker residence permit.
Points are awarded for partial or full recognition of your qualification, German and English skills, years of experience, age under 40, and previous stays in Germany.
